So Why Do Companies Produce Ethyl Ester Fish Oils if they are Inferior?
- It comes down to cost. All Omega 3 fish oils must be turned into the Ethyl Ester form so they can be concentrated into high EPA or DHA products (EPA and DHA are the omega 3 fatty acids).
- From here the concentrated fish oil can be sold as an ethyl ester, or it can be turned back into Triglycerides. Most companies don’t turn their fish oil back into Triglycerides because it increases production costs by about 40%.
